Stop Motion Animation*
Young creative thinkers design, build, and create a Stop Motion Animation sequence. They will use natural materials to create moving mandalas and fun creatures to go on adventures in different landscapes.

Mixed Up Tales
Young creatives will become playwrights, directors, costume designers, and performers while they create a new play using well known tales as prompts.
They will showcase their work to each other at the end of the workshop.

Bunraku Puppetry
Presented by Parados Productions in conjunction with Catbird Theatre.
Create your own Bunraku inspired spirit creature puppet. Participants will help each other to bring them to life!
Bunraku is a style of Japanese puppet theatre where multiple puppeteers manipulate one puppet.

The Party is a whimsical introduction to the world of theatre. This show has gentle and playful interactions with multiple sensory elements, props and puppets.
Sweetie the swamp wallaby is getting ready for a big surprise—her joey is about to emerge from her pouch. Luckily, she has her friends Edna the Echidna and Maggie the Magpie to help her prepare. The animals look to the forest for inspiration. Come join the animals of the forest to get ready for the party!

Stark Raven Mad is an award winninfast-paced, interactive poetry show where over 30 poems are performed.
It is dark and funny, but also delightful and a bit absurd. It takes the audience through a poetical journey bringing to life gothic poems using puppets, costumes, movement, and music.
Ages 6+
Alice Beaver Clapham grew up in Tennessee, USA. She received her BA in Theatre Arts at Rollins College, Florida and her MFA in Theatre for Young Audiences at Arizona State University, Arizona. She studied acting at RADA in London and at the Stella Adler Studio in NYC. Alice has worked professionally as a performer, playwright, director, and arts educator for the past 20 years in the USA (Childsplay) Honduras (teatro la fragua) Hong Kong (Faust, HKYAF, AFTEC, S4A) and Singapore (Faust). She has worked and studied with renowned community-based theatres Cornerstone Theater in Los Angeles and Sojourn Theatre in Portland, Oregon. Alice is also an accomplished voice actor working for companies such as Disney, Cartoon Network, Animax, and V-Tech. In Australia, Alice has collaborated with D.I.V.E. Theatre Collective and Perseverance Street Theatre.
Mary Eggleston is an actor, performance & instillation artist, a writer, and producer of performing and visual arts. She’s a keen collaborator and has worked in Australia and abroad since 1997. She trained in physical theatre with Zen Zen Zo and then went on to study mime and movement theatre at dieEtage in Berlin. Mary has toured extensively with Artslink and QLD Music Festival’s Youth Touring. She was selected to be part of the 2020 PlayLab mentorship under the guidance of Maxine Mellor and she’s currently writing collaboratively on a new work for theatre with Dr Nycole Prowse. Mary has worked as external producer for Project 24 – a council funded arts residency program at 2nd Space in Nambour. In 2024 Mary performed with Sunshine Coast based theatre companies DIVE Theatre Collective and Puppet Cabaret with David Erskine.
Aimee Gray is a multidisciplinary artist working across theatre, circus, film and music. Aimee holds a Bachelor of Drama, Film and Education and began her circus training with Vulcana Women’s Circus. She spent a lot of time in the NT working on theatre productions for Brown’s Mart Theatre, and alongside Corrugated Iron Youth Arts performing, facilitating and creating productions with a wide range of communities. She has created her own works and toured to Festivals across the country, won awards for film clips and recently has landed on the Sunshine Coast and is loving working alongside Catbird Theatre! Aimee has a drive to find creative ways to develop new works and find ways to connect with audiences that aren’t your average arts-goers. She has a passion for interdisciplinary work and how mediums can complement each other to create a whole new experience.
