Coming Soon: The Curious Op Shop

Op shops are full of curiosities, have you ever wondered about the story behind the item? 

Guided by the mysterious Oracle Shopkeeper, the Kid and the Lady must journey their way out of the op shop all while searching for what they know they’ve lost and confronting what they may have forgotten.

A playful journey into memory, connection, and letting go.

The Curious Op Shop will premiere at the Black Box Theatre in Nambour December 2nd, 5th, and 6th.

 The Curious Op Shop Development Workshops

Over three days in April and one day in June, workshop participants aged 8–13 met with Catbird Theatre Company’s team of professional theatre artists at Noosaville Library. Through a series of theatre games and devising exercises, participants contributed ideas and material towards the development of the show.

Participants explored the imagined histories and stories behind selected items sourced from an op shop, creating characters, memories, and scenarios inspired by their discoveries. These ideas became a source of inspiration for elements of the final play.

The workshops were free to participants.
